Veterans will participate in a progressive series of hiking or rock climbing, starting with basic technique, building on foundational skills, transferring skills into objectives, and leading to more advanced skills that are tangible, fit for purpose life skills.
We are a mobile program, currently serving five areas on Vancouver Island. Participants will travel to our tripping location site where they are met by our professional guides. Snacks are provided by the organization and participants are required to bring their own lunch, though lunch will be provided to those in need.
The series involves a commitment of two alternating weekends, participating in four full days of learning and connection.
Our program supports Veterans continued growth through adventure, after our structured events are over. All aspects of the experience empower individuals, in their community, to go out into nature and manage their own adventure experiences.
COST: This program comes at no cost to participants (travel not included), although donations are warmly accepted to put towards future trips for Veterans
DATES: TBD (Funding dependent)
LOCATIONS: Victoria, Cowichan Valley, Nanaimo, Comox/Courtenay, Campbell River
Our multi-day programs bring Veterans together from all locations offering an opportunity to expand and explore connections with other Veterans in their extended communities.
Compassionate communication workshops will be facilitated by a NVC professional, and yoga & meditation are incorporated to further explore the mind-body connection and promote self-regulation.
All snacks and meals are provided on these trips.
DATES: TBD (Funding dependent)
